Cisco’s new products, including switches, IP phones, and IP video software and cameras, enable businesses to increase their productivity and security while reducing power costs.Cisco Systems is rolling out a host of new products aimed at helping SMBs grow their businesses, improve security and reduce their costs.Cisco on Sept. 22 rolled out eight new products, including several networking switches, IP phones and new video cameras and software.The products are designed to help smaller businesses navigate their way through the difficult economic times.”Small businesses are working harder than ever to drive efficiency, productivity and profitability,” Ian Pennell, co-chair of Cisco’s Small Business Council, said in a statement. “By delivering innovative, new technology and services, Cisco is stepping up to help our small business customers meet their business objectives.”.Cisco is unveiling the 300 Series Managed Switches that help SMBs save up to 74 percent on power consumption and offer security and QoS (quality of service) features. In addition, the easy-to-deploy switches offer support for IPv6 and for various languages.With new its new IP phones and desktop administration tool, Cisco is giving SMBs high-definition voice across its SMB IP phone lineup.Through the SPA 300 Series, Cisco is offering a lineup of entry-level IP phones that are supported by Cisco’s UC (Unified Communications) 500 Series solution.Cisco’s SPA 525G2 IP Phone is a full-featured Bluetooth phone that takes advantage of Mobile Link, a feature that allows for the easy transfer of calls back and forth to a mobile phone, as well as the wireless import of contacts.Cisco also is offering Office Manager, a new desktop administration tool that lets an office administrator or IT person handle routine tasks for the Cisco Smart Business Communications System.The new video software and cameras designed to enable SMBs to make their businesses more secure include the Advanced Video Monitoring System software that offers monitoring and control capabilities with advanced analytics for video surveillance deployments of as many as 64 cameras.Cisco’s VM 220 Dome IP Video Camera offers imaging capabilities in bright- and low-light conditions, and the VC 240 Bullet IP Video Camera adds a weatherproof housing for outdoor environments.
