Microsoft Corporation has sold about 40,000 Windows Phone 7 devices on day one of their launch according to TheStreet.com. The software giant reportedly spent about $100 million in advertisements for the new mobile operating system phones. To build up some additional hype, Microsoft said that they are planning on giving 89,000 of the phones to their employees too.
