Two Russian companies are combing to build what is being pitched as the “world’s first commercial space station,” complete with hotel accommodation for space tourists. The station, dubbed the CSS, will operate as a commercial laboratory and a hotel that will be able to host up to seven people. Other supported services will be space for conducting medical experiments, and earth observation apart from short-duration stays for enjoyment.Russia’s Soyuz spacecraft would ferry crews and guests to the station, with unmanned Progress vehicles keeping it stocked with supplies. It’s envisaged that the CSS will have an orbit life of 15 years after being launched in 2015 or 2016.
